Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival

Updated: Oct 6, 2019

With my parents in town over the holidays, and having checked off most of our “to do list”, I decided to take them to the annual Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival. Held every year in Al Wathba, just 40 minutes drive from Abu Dhabi city centre, the festival features Emirati traditions and heritage, while also showcasing global cultures.

Visitors can expect to see a variety of themed country stands offering all kinds of products for sale from food to clothing, as well as marvel at the world’s greatest architecture.

Food options are abundant as a food court is available, as well as special dishes at almost each country stand, and fresh locally grown veggies for sale!

A lovely Emirati village depicts local culture by showcasing how fishermen weave their nets, while local ladies make handicrafts such as Al Sadu and Talli . Visitors can also enjoy a camel and horse race at the arena.

Visitors can expect plenty of entertainment at each country section, an Emirati marching band, shows for the little ones, and a gorgeous laser fountain show!

And of course, breathtaking fireworks!

The festival is on everyday until 26th January, so hurry up and check it out!

xo,

Marina
